Adjuntas, the mini Switzerland of Puerto Rico

Adjuntas is a tiny mountainside municipality of Puerto Rico situated in the middle midwest of the isles on the innermost mountain range, north of Guayanilla, Penuelas and Yauco, southeast of Utuado, wets of Ponce and east of Lares. This small municipality of Puerto Rico is also nicknamed as the Switzerland of Puerto Rico due to its moderately chilly temperature. In few ways, Adjuntas is both a hub of nature and a geographical hub. The cool weather and magnificent nature of Adjuntas magnetizes a nice number of island tourists in its summer months.

Cascada Las Garzas: It is a small and beautiful waterfall

Guilarte Forest Reserve: The Monte Guilarte Forest Reserve is a good looking and a lush tropical site in Adjuntas. The Forest Reserve is distributed in seven segments that are situated in the middle of the municipalities in Adjuntas, Yauco, Guayanilla and Penuelas. The trails are very excellent for mountaineering and the scenes at the peak are completely breathtaking. On a sunny day one can view both the San Juan and the Ponce without using binoculars or any other medium. Monte Guilarte is ranked as the third highest mountain top at the island

Museo Casa Pubelo: The Museo Casa Pueblo is a museum as well as a cultural institution established by a team of local people who fought in opposition to the copper mine mistreatment of the district for many years. It is responsible for various environmental projects such as the perpetuation of hundred of acres of the pristine woods as well as fresh water beings. It includes a gallery, library, office, artisan shop and an activity room, which is daily open from morning 9 am to evening 4 pm.

Museum fort Count Mirasol: This museum Fort Count Mirasol in Adjuntas is open for the public only for four days in a week i.e. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from morning 10 am to evening 4 pm, which is a must watch.

The small town has a tiny hotel called as Monte Rio as well as a nice size country inn or a parador called as Villa Sotomayor

Travel:

The main highway is the Puerto Rico 10, which links the cities of Arecibo in the north and Ponce In south. In addition, there is a miniature airport as well that caters to some private airplanes.
