Guayanilla, Puerto Rico

Guayanilla, which is Puerto Rico’s municipality, is ideally situated in the southern part of this beautiful island. Yauco, Adjuntas, Caribbean Sea, Ponce and Peñuelas are charmingly bordered by this municipality of Guayanilla. Administrative center and downtown area of this city is popularly known as “Guayanilla Pueblo”. Founded by criollos of Puerto Rico, Italians, Venezuelans, and Catalans, is a favorite destination of a large number of travelers.

This beautiful municipality of Puerto Rico has various exciting tourist spots to visit like Chorro de Oro Waterfall, Emajagua Beach, Tamarindo Beach, Mario Mercado Castle and Central Rufina Ruins to name a few. Guilarte Forest Reserve is also one of the major destinations that are liked by all. This Reserve is a tropical site that is famous for its plush and beautiful sights. This vast forest is clearly and beautifully split into seven sections that are ideally situated in the municipalities of Guayanilla, Yauco, Adjuntas and Peñuelas. Hiking is a common activity that is carried out at the trails of this forest. Sights of San Juan and Ponce can also be seen from this forest which makes the tourists all the more attracted towards this spot.

The place is also popular among tourists because of its great celebration of festivals and events. Some of the famous events and festivals carried out at this charming municipality of Puerto Rico includes Carnaval del Pueblo, Festival del Marisco, Fiestas de Cruz, Fiestas Virgen del Carmen, Maraton Femenino, Festival de la Chiringa and Fiestas Patronales Inmaculada Concepcion de Maria. Other events welcomed and organized at this place are Town Carnival, Seafood Festival, Student Festival and Cross Festivities. The Fiestas Patronales Inmaculada Concepcion de Maria is the most famous of all festivals and events as it is a patron saint one and includes parades, sumptuous food, religious processions and dances.

Travel

Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport is the main airport of San Juan and one can easily commute to Guayanilla municipality either through a drive from the international airport or from any good cruise.
